Public safety for Silicon Valley residents
As your State Senator, I will support public safety measures that bolster prevention and target recidivism, because investing in crime prevention is better than spending much more on incarceration.
I support the “Reducing Crime and Keeping California Safe Act of 2020,” a measure that will reclassify currently “non-violent” crimes like rape of an unconscious person, sex trafficking of a childand 14 other serious crimes as “violent” — to prevent the early release of inmates convicted of these crimes.
- Worked to rebuild San Jose’s police force to better protect city residents.
- Supported funding to assist law enforcement such as license plate readers and mobile fingerprint ID scanners, enabling perpetrators to be caught more rapidly.
I am committed to listening to all sides and putting ideology and partisanship aside. If you disagree or have an idea to recommend, won’t you start a dialogue with me by entering your opinion or idea below? Your input is very valuable to me and I will read EVERY one of these messages.”
